“EVERYONE HAD A GREAT TIME. IT HAS CERTAINLY BEEN THE BEST OUTING WE’VE HAD SO FAR, AND VERY MUCH LOOK FORWARD TO COMING AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.”

WHAT YOU MAKE
As a workforce, we are becoming ever more bound to our computers – and now craving a return to designing and making with our hands. So we’ve created a course designed for you and your team to escape the digital realm and re-connect with the simple act of making.
Offered as an after-work session at the workshop for up to 15 people, each member of the team will make their own industrial style table lamp from scratch.
The session introduces a range of wood & metal processes, and uses contemporary industrial fittings to complete the design. Over the course of the evening you’ll learn techniques of marking out, sanding the wooden profiles using a disc sander, cutting steel on a metal guillotine, and using the metal rollers to form the shape of the main shade. Finally you’ll get to assemble your new light, nuts, bolts, screws and all!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The session costs £125 + VAT per person, with a minimum group of 10, or fee of £1,250 + VAT.
Sessions run after work from 6.30 – 9.30pm, and are led by our highly technicians who specialize in wood and metal fabrication.
Our in-house cafe Wood Street Coffee (http://woodstcoffee.co.uk) can arrange for light bites to be available to fuel your making session for an additional charge, and we’ll also have a ready supply of tea & coffee along the way. If you’re keen to celebrate after, we can arrange for drinks at the end of the workshop or recommend local destinations to head to.
If you’re interested in booking a workshop, or have any further questions, send an email to: Harriet.
