Project: Dovetail wooden tray

Level: Intermediate

This 8 week advanced woodwork evening course will build on previous hand tool and power tool skills, refine them and strengthen your understanding of timber. Working in ash, you will set out and cut dovetails to make a handy tray. In fitting each joint you will perfect the art of chisel pairing and learn about tool maintenance. You will be able to custom make your own decorative veneered base, using a vacuum press. You will then be shown how to apply a quality finish that will not only protect the timber, but also make it shine.

The course will be taught by James Read, a Furniture Designer/Maker who teaches Fine Woodworking at the Building Crafts College, Stratford.

Please note that refunds and/or changes to ticket are available up to 7 days before course start date.
