A one-off evening course for absolute beginners. Ellen Galloway and Kirsten Dodds-Stevens from egallowayleatherdesign will teach you how to create your very own personalised credit card case – a perfect gift for you or someone else. Over the course of one evening you will learn about the basic techniques of traditional saddlery, including leather preparation. You’ll have the chance to try double stitching, hand-burnishing and embossing in a relaxed and supportive environment. This course is the perfect introduction for anyone interested in leather-working or those just curious to try something different.
All materials and tools are provided – strictly no experience necessary. We also supply you with an information pack with details of specialist suppliers and further courses for those who want to take their skills further.
Before becoming a leatherworker, Ellen trained in fashion design and worked in costume in west end musical theatre for many years. She now uses traditional saddlery techniques and materials to produce a range of high quality leather products in her workshop, based here in Walthamstow.
