There was definitely a spring gardening vibe to the market day last Saturday. Local food growing co-operative Organic Lea, donated us a number of fabulous fruit trees which were proudly planted with the help of a band of volunteers who shovelled in the mounds of compost to our new steel container beds.
We’ve got big plans for our yard this summer, so we’ve designed moveable steel planters on wheels to allow for a transportable garden depending on what’s going on – be that drive through cinemas, large scale building projects or stage sets for bands! Thanks especially to Marlene & Jae from Organic Lea, and landscape designer Zoya Jordan who from the beginning have helped bring a bit of greenery magic to the space.
In celebration of our new tree arrivals, we also hosted a bird box making session, so hopefully soon we’ll be twitching from the workshop windows as the birds flock to take up residence!
We’re taking a market break for Easter, so our next market will run on Saturday 2nd May. Sign up to our mailing list to keep up to date with plans.
