For those of you that want to join one of our courses or access the workshop, but aren’t in a position to currently afford it, we’ve set up a *Concessions Club*.
The Concessions Club offers free course places when our courses aren’t fully sold out, and affordable bench access to the workshop.
Who can apply:
You will need to have an email address, and be in receipt of one of the following:
- Pension or Savings Credit
- Aged 65+, with a household income of under £16,000
- Working Tax Credit
- Income Support
- Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Employment and Support Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independent Payment
- Incapacity Benefit
- Universal Credit
- Housing or Council Tax Benefit/Support
- Carers Allowance
- Child Tax Credit and have a household income of under £16,000
Then simply email giulia@blackhorseworkshop.co.uk with a scan or picture of your documentation proof, and you’ll be added to the club.
Free Course Places – how it works:
If you’ve registered with your documentation, you’ll be added to the Concessions Club email mailing list. If a course or induction place becomes available one week before the start of the course, you will be sent an email with the dates and times of the course. Free places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, unless you have already attended a free place on another of our courses in the last six months, when others will be given priority.

Subject to availability, we also offer 50% discount on the following inductions:
Machine Shop Level 1 – Machine Shop Level 2 – Metalwork Induction
Bench Bookings:
If you’d like to come and use the workshop for your own projects, you can also book our woodwork or metalwork benches on a Friday for £5 as a Concessions Club member. To book email in advance to info@blackhorseworkshop.co.uk. Bench bookings are subject to availability.
