Creative Induction: Chopping Board
|What you'll make||Chopping Board|
|Skills you'll learn||How to use our Bandsaw, Chopsaw, Pillar Drill and Disc and Bobbin Sander|
|Duration||1 x day workshop, 11am - 3.30pm|
This 1-day session introduces you a range of wood-working tools and equipment, which you can then use to make your own kitchen chopping board.
The first part of the day serves as a Level 1 Induction to the wood workshop, providing guidance on the safe use of workshop machinery, such as the chopsaw, bandsaw, pillar drill, disc and bobbin sander.
Following a talk on different types and uses of hardwood, you’ll then be able to select your material from our in-house timber store, and design your very own chopping board. With support and guidance from the tutor, you’ll then use our workshop equipment to make your object – providing you with a beautiful personalised project to take home with you!
This session will be led by Emma Chesterman who trained at the Building Crafts College in Stratford and is a professional furniture maker.
