How about learning the basics of wood machining through designing and making a bespoke coffee table of your own in sustainably-sourced native hardwood?
This 4-evening course introduces you to the essentials of wood machining, using the Blackhorse Workshop equipment to machine-up the timber needed to make your project.
Integrated into the course are both our machine shop inductions (Levels 1 & 2) providing you thereafter with access to our full range of woodworking equipment.
Alongside comprehensive guidance on the safe use of our trusty surface planer, thicknesser and table saw, you will also learn about how to select timber and the step-by-step process of converting ‘rough sawn’ timber into accurately machined components with which to make your table.
Timber will be sourced from our on-site shop of sustainably-sourced native hardwoods which, with support and guidance from the tutor, you’ll then transform into a beautiful personalized project to take home with you!
