Create a wooden vase with the deeply alluring curves of sculpted plywood. Something to sit proud in your home.
This course is perfect for beginners in woodwork and is a chance to use plywood in a non-traditional way. Weather you preferred to follow a design or go freestyle, this course caters to everyone.
Over the evening you will learn; how to design with proportions in mind, use the band saw, use sanders and finishing techniques. For functionality, glass inserts are provided for live flowers.
You will be taught Arturo Soto, award winning turner, and sculptor of wood. Born in Mexico, he graduated from Tadao Ando’s Center of Arts, Design & Architecture in 2012 and completed a masters degree as a Product Designer/Maker from the University of the Arts London. He has since set up Memories of Green, a luxury product design company using recycled and reusable materials. In 2019 he won The Cockpit Arts Turners Award 2019 & The Worshipful Company of Turners of London Award.
