We’ve got an exciting session coming up next week for our half-term holiday Make Stuff Club (for 9-13 year olds). We’re delighted to be welcoming back Europa, the design studio responsible for giving the workshop and Blackhorse Lane its famous visual identity. They will be working with the group on a LIVE DESIGN BRIEF for sixteen shutters for the businesses on Sutherland Road. With the help from the designers leading the workshop, together we will be inventing weird and wonderful flowers through making playful and fantastical compositions.
The outcomes of the workshop will feed into an artwork which is to be installed on the shutters of industrial units on Sutherland Road just round the corner from Blackhorse Workshop – so your child can come back and see their designs come to life! This is a great opportunity to have a hand in contributing to Walthamstow’s famous street art scene.
Europa is a graphic design studio who work with a diverse set of cultural institutions on projects including graphic identities, books, publications, exhibition design, signage, art direction and websites. Europa’s approach to design is collaborative – believing the constraints that a project brings can be both liberating and joyful.
Tickets are £10 per child, and the session will run 10am – 12pm Monday 12th February.
