FIRST THINGS FIRST….INDUCTIONS
To become a member and use the workshop you must first complete a compulsory induction, which meets health and safety requirements. After this you will be ready to book a bench and get started on your project.
We have a range of inductions to cover all machinery and tools in the workshop. Starting out can seem daunting so we have created two entry level inductions focusing on hand tools and power tools before moving on to the larger machinery. If you are already experienced in using workshop machinery, you can start with Machine Shop: Level 1 Induction.
Once you have completed your induction you automatically become a member and will be issued with a membership pack containing your membership card as well as guides to using the workshop machinery.
Following your induction, you can purchase a kit to practice using the specific tools and equipment covered. These are available from reception and a great place to start.
How much does it cost?
There are two ways to pay for your bench, either pay as you go or you can buy monthly, six-monthly or annual passes.
Our prices below are for access to bench space and machinery:
£29 per day (available to anyone completing a Hand tools, Power tools or Machine Shop induction)
