New Containers Coming Soon to Blackhorse Workshop

We are very pleased to announce we will be bringing eight converted shipping containers to be used as new ground floor workshop spaces in our yard. These will provide grow-on business space for our existing members to expand their ventures with more storage space and visibility. This extension to our workspace has been made possible through securing a loan from Big Issue Invest and support from London Borough of Waltham Forest.

Working with local architects Sean and Stephen on the layout and design,  we have now received planning permission, with the units set to arrive on site by the end of the year.  An accessible unit will also be available providing a ramp for wheelchair users. Graphic designers Europa will be ensuring the containers continue the famous Blackhorse Workshop identity featuring the familiar horse head, bright colours and signage.

This expansion will expand the number of creative businesses based on site, continuing to provide shared access to tools and machinery. This development coincides with the announcement of the new Creative United  programme which will deliver tailored business support for creative and cultural micro enterprises in the Blackhorse Lane Creative Enterprise Zone.
