Like so many industries, the range of creative career options presented can often seem disappointingly small. It is only through chance encounters in real-life workplaces that you discover something that might just flick your switch.
This insightful session held in our busy wood and metal workshop, home to over 45 independent creative businesses, introduces a range of different ways that people use practical hands-on skills to earn their living. From set designers to furniture makers, sculptors to carpenters, carvers to model makers, this unique tour takes you on a creative journey that explores what people do, and the route they took to get there.
In small groups you will be taken on a tour of this busy workshop, its tools and equipment, with hands on demonstrations from our experienced technicians. This experience will open up understanding of the creative sector, the opportunities to pursue and potential networking with local makers, employers and projects.
